Wooden decking has been installed outside CosmoCaixa, while the interior now features PIK picnic tables in ReBnew, ReBnew planters, and PICCO four-compartment bins to ensure efficient recycling.

Outside the CosmoCaixa in Barcelona, one of Europe’s leading science museums and a benchmark in scientific outreach promoted by the ”la Caixa” Foundation, a public-space upgrade has been carried out to enhance visitor comfort. The exterior area now includes wooden-slat decking, creating generous and comfortable spaces where visitors can rest, wait or enjoy the landscaped surroundings.

Inside the facility, functionality and sustainability have been strengthened with the installation of PIK picnic tables made from ReBnew, a highly resistant recycled material. These are complemented by ReBnew planters, which organise and green the communal areas, and by PICCO bins with four compartments, designed to facilitate efficient waste separation and encourage responsible recycling habits among visitors. This intervention improves both user comfort and environmental management within the museum.
